Students

The Carr Center's affiliated faculty members teach a number of popular HKS degree courses, advise students, and develop unique curricular materials. In addition, the Carr Center supports HKS students with funding opportunities, support for student-led events and initiatives, research and applied learning experiences, skills workshops, and more.

Learn more about our opportunities for students:

  • The Human Rights Professional Interest Council (PIC) is a network of students, fellows, faculty, alumni and professionals with an interest in the field of human rights. Activities include bi-monthly luncheons with human rights professionals, a monthly speaker series, networking events, and more!

  • The Topol Research Fellows program at the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy is made possible by the generous support of entrepreneur, philanthropist, and peace activist Sidney Topol and the Topol Family Foundation. The Topol Research Fellowship provided recognition to Harvard Kennedy School students interested in and committed to nonviolence and peace.

  • PAE/SYPA grants - The Carr Center seeks to encourage students to pursue PAE's that will assist clients in achieving human rights policy goals.

  • The Carr Center's Human Rights Summer Internship Fund supports Harvard Kennedy School students seeking to further their interest in human rights through research and first-hand experiences with our summer internship grant program.

  • OSIRG Summer Internship Program - The OSIRG summer internship program allows students to immerse themselves in the ideas and practice of open society by participating in a clinical seminar held at SPP at CEU in Budapest, Hungary.
