Carr Center Fellow
Sooyeon is a PhD candidate at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies and a research fellow at the Sié Chéou-Kang Center for International Security & Diplomacy. She currently manages the Major Episodes of Contention data project for Dr. Erica Chenoweth, and her research focuses on contentious politics, nuclear politics, and cyber warfare with a regional focus on Northeast Asia. She earned her MA in International Affairs from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, and double majored in Government and Psychology at Dartmouth College. Her professional experiences include developing content for a HarvardX/ Harvard Humanitarian Initiative course on “Humanitarian Response to Conflict and Disaster,” contingency planning for change in North Korea at the Joseon Institute, and assessing grant acquisition and management strategies for World Vision International.
