Andy Vo is a second year Master in Public Policy candidate at the Harvard Kennedy School. He is currently a Thomas R. Pickering Fellow and will enter the U.S. Foreign Service to serve as a diplomat beginning Summer 2017.
At HKS, Andy is currently studying Social and Urban Policy. His academic interests include civil rights, human rights (particularly political and economic rights for minority groups), and urbanization. Andy hopes to apply lessons from domestic policy to a foreign policy context, and promote human rights abroad. Prior to graduate school, Andy worked in community organizing with Asian American, immigrant, and LGBTQ communities. He also worked in various government capacities: in 2010, he worked for Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino and in 2013, he worked for U.S. Representative Joseph P. Kennedy III. Andy graduated from Yale University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Global Affairs.
He is the proud son of Vietnamese refugees and a first-generation college student.
