FPV is a pro bono NGO, which provides assistance to victims of arbitrary detentions, torture and cruel treatment since 2002, and counts on 200 volunteer lawyers and more than 1,000 volunteer activists. Romero has registered cases and filed actions for violations of human rights at the Inter American Commission for Human Rights (OAS) and the UN Human Rights entities. He is also a member of the Global Agenda Council on Justice of the World Economic Forum.
Romero is also a Professor of Public Law at Universidad Central de Venezuela. Romero is the author of articles and books about public and constitutional law, human rights and crimes against humanity. He holds a Law degree from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, Caracas, and MA from Georgetown University, and an LLM from London School of Economics.
