Welcome to the nexus of awarding-winning art, activism, politics, and culture. Hosted by the Center for Popular Democracy, they are bringing together some of the world’s biggest artists, community organizers, and progressive leaders for a historic multi-hour, cross-platform livestream. 

Dr. Tim McCarthy, Lecturer on History and Literature, Education & Public Policy at Harvard University, will be part of the following sessions: 

  • Thursday, September 24, 4-5:30pm: "Performing 1776: The Politics and Poetics of the Declaration of Independence" (lecture with Dr. Tim McCarthy and Professor John Stauffer, drawn from their popular Harvard course, "American Protest Literature from Tom Paine to Tupac")
  • Friday, September 25, 12:30-1:30pm: "1776: The Audacity to Exist" (roundtable with Dr. Time McCarthy, Professor Vincent Brown, and members of the cast and creative team of A.R.T.'s revival of the musical 1776)
