Study Group: An Introduction to the United Nations Human Rights System with Carr Center Fellow, Leo Castilho

In this study group, participants will gain an understanding of the origins of the UN huamn rights system and explore its present architecture: charter-based mechanisms of the UN Human Rights Council (special procedures and universal periodic review), treaty-based mechanisms (also known as treaty bodies), and the Office of the High Commissioner. 

This study group will be both theoretical and practical, aiming at developing skills of the participants interested in working on human rights.
