Please join the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy for its signature weekly series this fall, The Fierce Urgency of Now, featuring Black, Indigenous, People of Color scholars, activists, and community leaders, and experts from the Global South. Hosted and facilitated by Sushma Raman and Mathias Risse, the series also aligns with a course they will co-teach this fall at the Harvard Kennedy School on Economic Justice: Theory and Practice.

Vijay PrashadVijay Prashad is an Indian historian and journalist. Prashad is the author of thirty books, including Washington Bullets, Red Star Over the Third World, The Darker Nations: A People's History of the Third World, and The Poorer Nations: A Possible History of the Global South. He is the Chief Correspondent for Globetrotter. He is the Chief Editor of LeftWord Books (New Delhi). Prashad is a journalist, the Chief Correspondent for Globetrotter - a project of the Independent Media Institute. He is a columnist for Frontline and writes regularly for The Hindu and BirGun. He has reported from around the world for the Indian media - from Latin America to the Middle East to Africa
