 rr Center\n	\n\n\n\n	Barbara Smith is an author\, activist\, and independent
  scholar who has played a groundbreaking role in opening up a national cul
 tural and political dialogue about the intersections of race\, class\, sex
 uality\, and gender.&nbsp\;She was among the first to define an African Am
 erican women’s literary tradition and to build Black women’s studies and B
 lack feminism in the United States.&nbsp\;Barbara has been politically act
 ive in many movements for social justice since the 1960s.&nbsp\;She was co
 founder and publisher until 1995 of Kitchen Table: Women of Color Press\, 
 the first U. S. publisher for women of color. She resides in Albany\, New 
 York and served two terms as a member of the Albany Common Council from 20
 06 to 2013.&nbsp\; From 2014 to 2017 she served as the Special Community P
 rojects Coordinator for the City of Albany helping to implement the Equity
  Agenda.&nbsp\;Barbara has edited three major collections about Black wome
 n\, including&nbsp\;All the Women Are White\, All the Blacks Are Men\, But
  Some of Us Are Brave: Black Women’s Studies (with Gloria T. Hull and Patr
 icia Bell Scott\, 1982)\; and Home Girls: A Black Feminist Anthology (1983
 ).&nbsp\;&nbsp\;\n\n\n\n	Dr. Keisha N. Blain is an award-winning historian 
 of the 20th century United States with broad interests and specializations
  in African American History\, the modern African Diaspora\, and Women’s a
 nd Gender Studies. She is an Associate Professor of History at the Univers
 ity of Pittsburgh and the president of the African American Intellectual H
 istory Society. She is currently a 2020-2021 fellow at the Carr Center for
  Human Rights Policy at Harvard University. She also serves as an editor f
 or the Washington Post’s ‘Made by History’ section. Blain is the author of
  the multi-prize-winning book Set the World on Fire: Black Nationalist Wom
 en and the Global Struggle for Freedom (2018) and the co-editor of four bo
 oks: Four Hundred Souls: A Community History of African America\; New Pers
 pectives on the Black Intellectual Tradition\; To Turn the Whole World Ove
 r: Black Women and Internationalism\; and Charleston Syllabus: Readings on
  Race\, Racism\, and Racial Violence. Her next book\, Until I Am Free: Fan
 nie Lou Hamer's Vision of America\, will be published by Beacon Press in 2
