 Superintelligent AI and Rights\n			\n		\n	\n\n\n\n	&nbsp\;\n\n\n\n	Session 2&nbsp\
 ;- Disinformation:\n\n\n\n	While opensource investigations have used data a
 nd technology to pry open the shroud that conceals war crimes and abuses\,
  disinformation campaigns are used by perpetrators and their witting and u
 nwitting allies in an effort to obfuscate and conceal.&nbsp\; In this sess
 ion we will investigate the methods used by perpetrators in disinformation
  campaigns.&nbsp\; This will include a review of deepfakes\, the synthetic
  visual and audio content created using artificial neural networks.&nbsp\;
  \n\n\n\n	&nbsp\;\n\n\n\n	Ben Nimmo:\n\n\n\n	Ben Nimmo is Senior Fellow for I
 nformation Defense at the Atlantic Council’s Digital Forensic Research Lab
  (DFRLab). He specializes in analyzing patterns of online disinformation a
 nd influence operations across varying platforms and geographical regions.
  In a career marked by more variety than predictability\, he has been a sc
 uba diving instructor\, travel writer\, journalist (2004-11\, including as
  EU and NATO correspondent for the German Press Agency\, dpa)\, and NATO p
 ress officer (2011-14)\, and worked for the Institute for Statecraft in Lo
 ndon (2015-16). He once walked from Canterbury\, England\, to Santiago de 
 Compostela\, Spain\, for charity\, carrying a trombone.&nbsp\; See&nbsp\;B
